Bruce Willis is the lead in MGM/Paramount remake of Death Wish.

Aharon Keshales & Navot Papushado, the duo behind Big Bad Wolves, were going to direct the film. They left due to creative differences.  They wanted changes in a script Willis had signed off on. Eli Roth (Knock Knock, Hostel) stepped in to direct.

The film follows Paul Kersey (Willis) whose life is destroyed by a violent crime against his wife and daughter. Frustrated the bad guys were not brought to justice for the violence and degradation the thugs inflicted on his family, he starts hunting for the perpetrators himself.

Vincent D’Onofrio (Daredevil, The Magnificent Seven) and Dean Norris (Breaking Bad) have now joined the film. D’Onofrio is set to play Willis’ brother, while Norris will play Detective Rains.

The Brian Garfield novel was already famously adapted for the big screen by Michael Winner in 1974 and starred Charles Bronson. The new film is set to into production on September 26 in Montreal and Chicago.
