A few days back came word that John Turturro was going to be playing Jesus Quintana in a new film. Jesus was the character he playing in The Big Lebowski, but this new film is not a Coen Brothers film. Turturro is directing and he stars alongside Bobby Cannavale, Audrey Tautou and Susan Sarandon. Shooting is taking place in New York, and the Coen brothers are not involved with the production.

The film is called Going Places and is a remake of a 1974 French comedy called Les Valseuses. Turturro wrote the script and it carries on with his character from The Big Lebowski.

Turturro has wanted to return to the character for a long time and it looks like he has finally been able to. Apparently he has the rights or permission from the Coen Brothers to do so.

The film follows two crooks, Turturro’s Jesus and Cannavale’s Petey, who are on a mission to give a woman (Tautou) her first orgasm after ends up getting mixed up in one of their schemes. Sarandon also ends up in their company, playing a criminal who just got out after a long stint in prison. Sarandon plays a criminal who just got out of prison after serving a long sentence.

Sarandon shared this first image of Turturro as Jesus.
