Netflix commissioned House of Tomorrow to produce twelve new episodes of Black Mirror as a Netflix original series. House of Tomorrow’s Charlie Brooker and Annabel Jones, who executive produced the first seven episodes of the series, will continue to serve as executive producers and showrunners for the new episodes. Brooker wrote some of the new episodes and he has shared these new images. They are from episodes called ‘San Junipero’ and ‘Nosedive.’

San Junipero is directed by Owen Harris (Kill Your Friends) and stars Mackenzie Davis (The Martian) and Gugu Mbatha-Raw (Belle). Nosedive is directed by Joe Wright (Atonement, Hanna). It stars Bryce Dallas Howard (Jurassic World) and Alice Eve (Star Trek Into Darkness) in a story written by Parks and Recreation’s co-creator Michael Schur and actor Rashida Jones.

Not really that much to see apart from Bryce Dallas Howard on a phone, but still good to know that we will be able to gaze into the Black Mirror once more.

Six episodes will be hitting Netflix this October, with the final six being released at some point in 2017.

Created and written by Brooker, BLACK MIRROR taps into our collective unease with the modern world and each stand-alone episode is a sharp, suspenseful tale exploring themes of contemporary techno-paranoia. Without questioning it, technology has transformed all aspects of our lives; in every home; on every desk; in every palm – a plasma screen; a monitor; a Smartphone – a BLACK MIRROR reflecting our 21st Century existence back at us. The series has been recognized with an international Emmy Award, a Peabody Award, a Rose D’Or and been nominated for a Bafta® award.
