Matt Ryan is Constantine once more in a sneak peek at Justice League Dark

Matt Ryan was fantastic as John Constantine. However, the Constantine TV show only got one season. He did turn up in the last season of Arrow, but it seemed that could be the last we saw of Matt as John.

Turns out he will be voicing the character in the Justice League Dark animated movie. That news makes me so happy.

The film also went through some changes. Put together by Guillermo del Toro, it was going to be a live action film that would see the magical side of the DC universe on the big screen – it was set to feature the likes of Swamp Thing, Deadman, Zatanna and more.

Time passed and Guillermo had to leave the project. Then it got cancelled, but then reborn as an animated feature. We now have this new video that shows some footage from the film and interviews with the cast and crew.

It is all looking very good. It looks like the team for the film is made up of John Constantine, Zatanna, Etrigan the Demon,>Black Orchid and possibly Swamp Thing. Plus we get to see Batman in the mix.

Ryan is joined by Jason O’Mara as the voice of Batman, Camilla Luddington voices Zatanna, Nicholas Turturro is Deadman and Ray Chase voices Etrigan.

Creative Director Mike Carlin said that, “Justice League Dark is what it sounds like. It’s the dark side of justice. A group of supernatural heroes who band together loosely to take on occult threats, supernatural threats – threats that the real Justice League may be powerless against.”

Producer James Tucker added, “It’s a Justice League movie, but it’s not….They don’t look like your typical superheroes. They’re outcasts. No one is happy when they show up. If anything, with Justice League Dark, everyones’ frightened when they show up. They misunderstand them, so having monstrous people do heroic things is always kind of cool.”
