Kiefer Sutherland joins the Flatliners remake

James Norton (War & Peace, Rush), Ellen Page, Diego Luna, Kiersey Clemens and Nina Dobrev star in the Flatliners remake.

For those of you who are not aware of the original, it was a 1990 film that starred Julia Roberts, Kiefer Sutherland and Kevin Bacon. They played a group of medical students killing themselves in controlled conditions and then bringing themselves back. However, they brought things back with them.

Turns out that Kiefer is joining the new version and he will be playing a seasoned doctor. I like the sound of that and I definitely think enough time has passed for a remake.

Filming is due to begin in Toronto next week, according to Deadline.

Neils Arden Oplev (The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo) will direct the project for Sony from a screenplay byBen Ripley. Michael Douglas and Laurence Mark
