"No matter where you go, there you are."

Daniel Radcliffe hasn’t ruled out playing Harry Potter again

If you are a Harry Potter fan you will know that J.K. Rowling’s eighth Harry Potter tale, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, is playing in London’s West End at the Palace Theatre. It features an adult Harry and his family

It was always difficult being Harry Potter and it isn’t much easier now that he is an overworked employee of the Ministry of Magic, a husband and father of three school-age children.

While Harry grapples with a past that refuses to stay where it belongs, his youngest son Albus must struggle with the weight of a family legacy he never wanted. As past and present fuse ominously, both father and son learn the uncomfortable truth: sometimes, darkness comes from unexpected places.

The Cursed Child is the first Potter story to be presented on stage, but it does make you wonder whether it will ever get a big screen adaptation. The question is, would Daniel Radcliffe be up for playing a grown up Harry Potter if this, or another story was turned into a film?

The subject came up when Radcliffe was chatting to the Radio Times.

It would depend on the script. The circumstances would have to be pretty extraordinary. But then I am sure Harrison Ford said that with Han Solo and look what happened there! So I am saying, ‘No,’ for now but leaving room to backtrack in the future.

There you have it. It’s not ruled out, but does seem unlikely at the moment.

Would you want Daniel Radcliffe to play an adult Harry Potter if the opportunity arose?

We will next be able to see Radcliffe on the big screen in Now You See Me 2 and Swiss Army Man.
