"No matter where you go, there you are."

Independence Day: Resurgence is with us so how many people believe in Aliens?

Independence Day: Resurgence opens in UK cinemas today and earlier in the week British astronaut Tim Peake returned home after 6 months in space. Coincidence?

We always knew they were coming back. After INDEPENDENCE DAY redefined the event movie genre, the next epic chapter delivers global spectacle on an unimaginable scale. Using recovered alien technology, the nations of Earth have collaborated on an immense defense program to protect the planet. But nothing can prepare us for the aliens’ advanced and unprecedented force. Only the ingenuity of a few brave men and women can bring our world back from the brink of extinction.

Directed by Roland Emmerich, the film stars Liam Hemsworth, Jeff Goldblum, Bill Pullman, Judd Hirsch, Vivica A. Fox, Brent Spiner, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Jessie Usher, Maika Monroe, and Sela Ward.

According to research* conducted by Vue to mark the release of Independence Day: Resurgence, one in three people in the UK believes in aliens. Whatever your opinion is about aliens, they are very low odds.

  • One in six people have reported to seeing a UFO – rising to a third of 18-24 year olds – and four in ten of us think that UFO’s have previously landed in the UK. This peaks in London, with more than half of Londoners believing UFOs have landed on Earth.
  • 41% of us believe UFO’s have already landed on earth
  • The top three physical features Brits think aliens have are human features (47%), telepathic abilities (46%) and massive eyes (23%)

In an alien invasion, Brits are more likely to save their mobile phone than their photo albums
