"No matter where you go, there you are."

The trailer for Netflix’s Stranger Things is full of 80s goodness

Stranger Things

Stranger Things is a new supernatural drama heading our way from Netflix. The eight episode show stars Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Charlie Heaton, Natalia Dyer, Millie Brown and Matthew Modine.

Set in Hawkins Indiana in the 1980’s, Stranger Things chronicles the search for a young boy who vanishes into thin air under highly-suspicious circumstances. His mother (Winona Ryder) opens an investigation into the boy’s disappearance with local authorities that unravels a series of mysteries involving top-secret government experiments, terrifying supernatural forces and one very strange little girl. A love letter to the ubiquitous classics of the ’80s, Stranger Things is a coming-of-age story for three boys that draws this quaint community into a world where mysteries lurk beneath the surface.

Ryder plays Joyce, a working class woman and the mother of the missing 2-year-old. In the quest to rescue her son from terrifying forces, she summons a strength she never knew she had.

Harbour will play the town’s chief of police, tasked with investigating the disappearance. Modine plays Dr. Martin Brenner, a brilliant, enigmatic scientist who may or may not be connected to the boy’s mysterious disappearance.

Stranger Things hits Netflix on 15th July.
