Steve Coogan and Rob Brydon are heading to Spain for a new series of The Trip

They have visited The Lake District in the UK, Italy and now Steve Coogan and Rob Brydon are heading to Spain for the third series of The Trip. They will once again be directed by Michael Winterbottom.
The show had been with the BBC, but has been recommissioned by Sky Atlantic and will see Coogan and Brydon venture from the North Atlantic to the Mediterranean coast. They will visit Cantabria, the Basque region, Aragon, Rioja, Castile-La Mancha and Andalusia.
“Having thought long and hard about yet another sojourn into culinary distractions and middle age,” said Coogan, “I have reluctantly agreed to Y viva Espana. I have a hole in my diary, there will be free food and accommodation and Rob Brydon is surprisingly good company. I also like Michael.”
Winterbottom added, “Travelling with Rob and Steve is always enjoyable – so it seemed like a good idea to go on another journey together – before they get too old.”
Filming is due to begin later this year.
