Katheryn Winnick is heading to The Dark Tower

The film adaptation of Stephen King’s The Dark Tower already has Idris Elba as Roland Deschain (The Gunslinger), Matthew McConaughey as Randall Flagg (The Man in Black), Abbey Lee as Tirana, Tom Taylor as young Jake Chambers and Fran Kranz as Pimli.
They will be joined by Katheryn Winnick, star of History Channel’s “Vikings.”
There is no word on who, or what, she will be playing. Any thoughts on the matter?
It is a huge series – eight novels, assorted comic books and short stories – so it is going to be a tough one to adapt. However, King and director Nikolaj Arcel, recently spoke about the adaptation. King says the movie will open with the first line from the first book. “It should start that way,” he says. “I’ve been pretty insistent about that.” However, the first film will not adapt the plot of the first book, The Gunslinger, published in 1982.
King talks more about that here.
The Dark Tower arrives in theaters Feb. 17, 2017.
