Robert Downey Jr will be appearing in Spider-Man Homecoming

We all know Tom Holland is making his debut as Peter Parker / Spider-Man in Captain America: Civil War. He will be sharing a few scenes with Robert Downey Jr.

There had been rumours that Downey Jr could be involved in Sony and Marvel’s Spider-Man Homecoming movie. Seems that they really like how Tony Stark and Peter Parker interact. Word, via Variety, is that Robert Downey Jr will definitely be in the Spidey movie although their sources say the size of the role is unknown at this time.

I am more than happy to have a bit of Stark and/or Iron Man in the new Spider-Man movie. Any appearance, whether it be big or small, will be wonderful and make it more like the comic books.

Marisa Tomei is playing Aunt May, and Zendaya is said to be playing a key role. We have also heard that Michael Keaton (Batman, Birdman) is in talks to join the film as the villain of the piece, but it seems that may not work out. Tony Revolori and Laura Harrier are also in the film.

In February 2015, Sony and Marvel announced a deal to share live-action rights to the character, which were previously solely under Sony’s control. The Sony Pictures film is set to begin production soon for a July 2017 release. Jon Watts is directing and Marvel Studios’ Kevin Feige and Amy Pascal producing.
