The Starz adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s American Gods already has Ricky Whittle as Shadow, Ian McShane as Mr. WednesdayEmily Browning as LauraSean Harris has been cast as Mad Sweeney, Yetide Badaki as Bilquis, and Bruce Langley as Technical Boy.

They are going to be joined by Crispin Glover and Jonathan Tucker.

Shadow is a recently released convict who becomes employed by a mysterious figure named Mr. Wednesday. As the two men travel the United States, Shadow becomes aware that a war is imminent between the country’s old gods and its new ones, and that his part in the proceedings has been predestined.

TV Line had the news and explained who Glover and Tucker will be playing:

Tucker (Kingdom) will portray Low-Key Lyesmith, who first shows up in the drama as prison cellmate/philosophical advisor to the story’s protagonist, Shadow (The 100‘s Ricky Whittle). Low-Key is described as “wiry and fast-talking, with an offbeat sense of humor” and someone who “has a theory for everything and gives Shadow some sage advice to ready him for the outside world.

But — and here’s where it gets a little tricky — the character is later revealed in the book to be Norse god Loki, who also shows up in the form of Mr. World, leader of the New Gods. Crispin Glover (Back to the Future, Texas Rising) will play the seemingly omniscient Mr. World, who the official character description says is “sometimes more challenged by his own subordinates than his enemies.”

Bryan Fuller (“Hannibal,” “Pushing Daisies,” “Heroes”) and Michael Green (“The River,” “Kings,” “Heroes”) are writers and showrunners. David Slade (“Hannibal,” “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse”) is directing the pilot and additional episodes. FMNA’s Craig Cegielski and Stefanie Berk are executive producing the series along with Fuller, Green, Slade and Neil Gaiman.
