Cool Short: Code 8 by Robbie & Stephen Amell

A few days back came a trailer for a film called Code 8. It was all very mysterious but featured robotic police.

Now the mystery is sort of over as it is a short film from Arrow’s Stephen Amell and Robbie Amell.

A desperate young man possessing special powers clashes with a militarized police force after committing a petty crime.

The film takes place in a world where 4% of the population are born with some type of supernatural ability. Instead of being billionaire superheroes, most ‘specials’ live in poverty and resort to crime, forcing the police to become more militarized.

The story follows a young man with special powers (Robbie Amell) struggling to find work as a day laborer. After a dispute over payment, he finds himself in a confrontation with a police officer (Kang) and the autonomous robots backing him up.

Code 8 is an action/science fiction short film, produced as a proof of concept for a feature film version to be filmed later this year.

It looks fantastic and they have set up an IndieGoGo campaign to get the feature version made.
