It has been talked about for a while, but it seems everything is official as Leonardo DiCaprio has joined Quentin Tarantino’s untitled Charles Manson movie, according to Variety.

DiCaprio will play an ageing, out-of-work actor in the film. Margot Robbie has also been attached to the film for a while and it is thought she will be playing Sharon Tate. DiCaprio and Robbie worked together in The Wolf of Wall Street. DiCaprio previously starred in Tarantino’s Django Unchained.

Little is known of the plot, but it is thought Charles Manson and The Manson Family will be more in the background of the story.

Tom Cruise is also being pursued to star in the director’s ninth feature. Apparently, Tarantino would like Al Pacino in the film as well.

Sony is handling distribution and the film is due out on 9th August 2019 – The 50th anniversary of the day that the Manson family committed the LaBianca murders and the day after Tate was killed.
