The CW and Warner Bros. Television have released information about their crossover event. It will be on Monday, November 27 and Tuesday, November 28 and called Crisis on Earth-X! The four-part crossover will include Supergirl, Arrow, The Flash, and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow. Comic artist Phil Jimenez (Wonder Woman) put together this artwork for Crisis on Earth-X.

With all of the heroes in town to celebrate Barry and Iris’s wedding, villains from Earth-X crash the festivities with a deadly agenda.

“We conceived this year’s crossover to be evocative of the annual Justice League/Justice Society crossovers we grew up with and looked forward to as kids,” said Executive Producers Marc Guggenheim and Andrew Kreisberg. “Phil was the perfect choice to bring the comic book cover iteration of this idea to life. You can count on one hand the number of artists who could compellingly represent so many characters in a single image. Phil is one of them. And his design invokes the cover of JUSTICE LEAGUE #207, which was the 20th Annual JLA/JSA crossover. Our ten-year-old selves are in heaven.”

Jimenez clearly took inspiration from those early crossovers as well. “Some of the first DC Comics I ever read were those insane crossovers with a dozen characters from alternate earths and dimensions – the kind of stuff I later became known for!” he revealed. “So when CW asked me to do a homage cover inspired by those amazing team up covers, I couldn’t resist, the chance to draw all of The CW’s DC Super-Heroes in one crazy action sequence was insanely fun and exciting. And Romulo Fajardo’s colours brought everything to life!”

Unlike past CW crossovers, this year’s four-part crossover will air over two nights: Monday, November 27th and Tuesday, November 28th on The CW. Arrow will air on Thursdays this season, but for the crossover it will air on Monday at 9/8c after Supergirl, while the other DC shows will remain in their regularly scheduled time periods.

The shows are all set to return to the network the week of October 9, kicking off with Supergirl at 8 PM that Monday. Tuesday, October 10th will see the Season 4 premiere of The Flash followed by the Season 3 premiere of DC’s Legends of Tomorrow. Arrow moves to a new date and time and will premiere its sixth season on Thursday, October 12 at 9 PM.

We will also be seeing The Ray joining The CW for the crossover and Russell Tovey (Quantico) has been cast in the role of the gay superhero. Tovey will also voice the role of The Ray in CW Seed’s forthcoming animated series Freedom Fighters: The Ray according to TV Line.

Raymond “Ray” Terrill was a reporter who discovered a group of government scientists working on a secret project to turn light into a weapon of mass destruction. But before he could report on his findings, the project head exposed Ray to a “genetic light bomb.” The bomb failed to kill him and instead gifted Ray with light-based powers. With these abilities, Ray realized he could go beyond reporting on injustice — he could take action to help stop it. Calling himself The Ray, he was recruited by Uncle Sam and the Freedom Fighters to fight violence and oppression wherever it exists.
